Windows XP — Install Vista Device Driver for AirHORN | WifiEagle | WifiCopper
The installation program was written to install the correct drivers for the different versions of Windows (e.g. XP, Vista and Windows 7). However, on some installations of Windows XP the corresponding XP drivers fail to properly install — we’ve never understood why that is. Turns out the solution is to install the 32-bit Vista drivers instead. Using Device Manager, if you attach/detach the wireless device you should see an entry (with a yellow question mark) appear/disappear — if so, then this is the device for which we’ll install the Vista device driver software.
(1) Attach the wireless device.
(2) From Device Manager, right-click on the entry (with the yellow question mark) and select ‘Update Driver’. This should launch the ‘Hardware Update Wizard’.
(3) Navigate to the folder that contains the drivers that were installed by the setup program (e.g. \Program Files\NutsAboutNets\(AirHORN | WifiEagle | WifiCopper)\Drivers\). For the dual-band device, navigate further to Sparklan\Windows_Vista or, for the single-band device, to Zydas\Windows_Vista.
